We’re here to support children and their families.
About Telehealth
Telehealth is a method of providing a therapy (healthcare) service via technology such as a phone, or video software. It is an alternative to face to face therapy session. Telehealth sessions provide a convenient way to access therapy, without needing to travel, or come into the clinic. Having services provided in your home /within a familiar environment suits some children. Not all services are appropriate for telehealth, but many are. If you are unsure, please discuss this with your therapist.
For telehealth you
will require:
- A device with audio and camera e.g. smartphone / computer / tablet
- Access to a reliable internet connection
- Quiet space to be able to communicate with your therapist
Your therapist will discuss prior to the appointment what resources and toys to have ready to play during the session with your child. They may send you documents to print prior to the session (or post in the mail) or they may use an ‘online whiteboard’ or special therapy games if using a computer/tablet. Telehealth looks a little different for each goal that is worked on, and how old the child is.
